This year, we decided to add a little extra magic to our annual "Bring Your Kids to Work Day" by hosting it on Halloween – allowing both staff and children to dress up in their best Halloween costumes.
The day was jam-packed with innovative and educational activities, all with a spooky twist. From the moment they arrived at the office they were on a Halloween-themed treasure hunt – an ice-breaking exercise of solving clues and code-breaking, followed by learning about artificial intelligence (AI) and how they are already using it, to teambuilding and playing outside.
As a TelXL Bring Your Kids to Work Day tradition, the kids got to interview their parents at work and ask them questions like ‘what do you do? ‘who do you work with?’ and ‘what would your superpower be?’ with the hope this will inspire the next generation into a technology career.
The day would not be complete without a McDonalds and a Movie before another run round the office before heading home.
Zoe Fox, Head of HR said: “Bring Your Kids to Work Day is an opportunity to show the next generation what technology, teamwork, and problem-solving looks like in action. By introducing kids to things like AI, coding, and customer service in such an interactive way, we are helping them see the potential of careers in tech, while also creating memories and experiences that will last a lifetime.”
Sarah Dacre, Office Manager said: “Every year we like to welcome our employees’ children to the office for a day of creativity, innovation, and fun. It is an opportunity for parents to show their children where they work and meet their colleagues and gain an understanding of what they do. We had an absolute blast celebrating Halloween with the kids, and we are already planning next year's event to be even bigger and better.”
